My 5 year old and I play golf together and we practice her game strategy with the Tiger Woods Masters 12. We started out with SimStix but we decided to try these to see if they are any good. I will compare this to the SimStix.

    Pros:
    1. More realistic swing direction- I hit straight, to a fade on the golf course. When I use this, it does show my swing analysis to be mostly straight to a fade. When I use the SimStix, it tells me I hit straight, to a draw. My daughter’s swing is replicated very well with this.
    2. I like the length of this is more like a real club. You can address the ball more accurately. The SimStix will require your imagination.
    3. My 5 year old can swing this much better than the SimStix, which is too heavy for juniors.

    Cons:
    1. It is plastic. The SimStix has a real golf Grip on a short steel shaft. You have to take a little more care with this because I can see how you can break this if you hit the floor too hard.
    2. You have to take off the remote from the club if you want to use the pointer. But, for almost everything you can use the direction buttons, so not a big deal.
    3. Since you are gripping the Wii Remote with both hands on the EA Sports club, I find it a little difficult to get 100% power on my swing since it is not a golf grip. It works well for the direction of the shot, but not the power. But my 5 year old can swing it full power without much difficulty though.

    Summary:
This is a fun practice club for you and your future PGA pro. Just use your common sense and do not hit anything solid with this and you should be fine.

Expected a More Sturdy Product, September 11, 2012

The product description is accurate, but based on a five-star review, I was led to believe this item would be much sturdier. I found the connections a bit flimsy and the plastic a little too bendable. I was nervous about the remote as the case simply snaps and opens a bit too easily.

Anyone looking for something other than those cheap white ones they sell locally will like the looks of these, but for the price I expected something more durable.

I will be keeping them, as they are being used, but in the future will seek out more realistic clubs.

I will say that these clubs don’t obstruct the remote, so they will work with even the initial Wii Sports. But you may have to remove the remote from the housing to navigate menus.
