Improvement of golfing performance is tantamount to embarking on the road to success. In any game, once the player is through with the basics, then there is usually the need to improve and give it a unique touch through coming up with techniques that will guarantee wins. Golf is not any different as there are numerous tactics that a golfer can employ and ensure wins on his side. One of these is the golfing swing. Quite naturally, an observer would laugh at the manner in which golfers hack away their tees when trying to get the perfect shot. This is where the thin line between just swinging the club for the attainment of hitting the golf ball and a perfect, professionally executed swing. There are some few steps involved. First, the golfer needs to position themselves in line with the flag. This is done by looking out for a nearby stone, leaf, branch, broken tee or a reference point that is in a direct line between the flag being aimed for and the ball. What follows is drawing of an imaginary line between these two points and putting the golfing clubface square to it. The next step is making sure that the club is on the ground and behind the ball before placing it on the left hand such that the shaft lies across the forefinger's top. In addition, the golfer should ensure that the middle finger is around the grip, such that there will not be any room for the club to move. The most important part in this whole step is ensuring that the thumb is straight on top of the club's shaft. Two to three knuckles of the hand should be seen from this position. The third step to a perfect golfing swing is making sure that the right hand is correctly gripped by folding the right hand over the left thumb such that the thumb on the club's right hand should be pointing to the right shoulder. Getting a perfect golfing swing requires correct gripping of the club's back, and this is achieved through placing the little finger of the right hand between the index and middle fingers of the left hand. Adopting a correct stance is paramount as it allows perfect balance and poise throughout the swing. For starters, the feet should be apart at the same width of the shoulders for a mid iron shot. Here, the feet, knees, hips and shoulders should all be parallel to the target. The right foot should be placed straight forward from the body at a right angle in relation to the line of flight. Finally, with the correct grip, stance and ball on the ready, the golfer can then perform the swing which is in most cases will be accompanied by a waggle. This movement ensures that body weight is evenly distributed on the feet. The swing starts with rotation and not the hands. Body rotation triggers the action of the arms, but with the hands maintaining the same pressure grip throughout. It starts with rotation collective rotation of the shoulders, hips, hands, and arms.
